I Sea You!

Still keeping busy getting the last little details hammered out before month end.. This is another one of my paintings that I will be reproducing as posters for next months Calgary expo.

Fishy Fusion

My name is Christine, and I am a fish geek.

When I started my part-time job in high school, I still remember saving my pay to buy that first real aquarium. It was a 30 gallon freshwater setup, and I remember how excited I was to finally have a "big" tank for all the fish I wanted to get. Through trial and error, I discovered quite a few things before I knew much about compatibility or the science of fish keeping. I am now 26, and ten years after getting that first tank (which now sits in my kitchen with my most peaceful fish) there are seemingly endless resources for me to learn more about better caring for my aquatic pets. I currently have three tanks running: my 30 gallon community tank, a 60 gallon setup housing my red devil and electric catfish, and a 125 gallon tank for my spiny eel, walking catfish, and various large cichlids. My other tanks are currently in storage and housing my snakes, but have also had fish in them over the years.

My name is Christine... and I am also an artist..

After returning from military work overseas in 2008, I made the decision to put the money I had earned towards my education. I am now a few months away from receiving my BFA, and am working towards combining my enthusiasm for our scaly friends with creativity ~ to create this fusion blog of art inspired my aquariums, and aquariums that are forms of art themselves.
